 *Drums Support For Uzodimma

A frontline politician and chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, APC in Imo State, Chief Mike Nwachukwu, has called on  all stakeholders in Imo state not to keep silent over the raging issue of insecurity in the state.

In a statement in Owerri and made available to INNONEWS, Nwachukwu said “I call on all stakeholders in the State, political leaders, traditional rulers, the Clergy, not to keep silent or see the unfortunate events of the past few weeks, as an opportunity to take an undeserved swipe on the administration of Dist. Senator Hope Uzodinma, while Imo burns or head to Golgotha.

He advised the opposition, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP  and other opposition elements, to refrain from politicizing the unfortunate situation in Imo State.

He said “The negative stance of the PDP on a serious issue such as insecurity is unfortunate and unacceptable.

“This is not time for politics or to reap political capital from the frightening level of insecurity in the State.

“Leaders of the PDP in the State should be reminded that it is only when there is peace in the land that electoral or political contest can take place.

“I urge them to rather join hands with the APC led administration of Governor Hope Uzodimma to find a lasting solution to the monster of insecurity in the State” the 2019 Owerri zone senatorial candidate of APGA stated.

Nwachukwu also accused some politicians in the state of conspiracy of silence over rising level of insecurity in the state.

He stated “The conspiracy of silence of our politicians is not acceptable

It is not the sole priority of the State government to fight insecurity, but the concern of all and sundry, regardless of political leanings or affiliation, to ensure protection of lives and property.

“In this regard, all hands must be on deck to tackle insecurity in Imo State before it gets out of hand.

“Governor Hope Uzodimma, through his 3R mantra has firmly provided good governance to the good people of Imo State and has been on the right track towards the provision of the much needed road infrastructure in our dear State.

He condemned the gruesome murder of former Presidential Adviser, Ahmed Gulak,

“I condemn in its entirety, the gruesome murder of former Presidential Adviser, Alh. Ahmed Gulak in Imo State.

“I equally hail our Northern brothers for exercising restraint in the face of extreme provocation by not engaging in reprisal attacks, which perharps was the intention of those behind the dastardly murder of Alh. Gulak.

The Owerri North born politician expressed worry over “the unwanton killing of security personnel, the destruction of Police Stations, and offices of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in the State. This is unacceptable”

He advised the unknown gunmen “to ceasefire considering the negative impacts of their activities, which has not only led to the militarization of our State, but also the needless killings of innocent civilians, with the potential of stunting the growth of the economy of the State.

“Violence can never be a substitute for peace. This is why it is imperative that the unknown gunmen sheath their swords and follow the path of restraint.

He however advised the state government to ascertain the root cause(s) of insecurity in the state.

He noted that “all over the world, , governments at all levels; owe it a responsibility to carter for the security and well being of the governed.

“This is why it is necessary the State government should urgently tackle the root cause(s) of insecurity in the State, by creating job opportunities for thousands of our jobless youths.

“The State government should also focus on ameliorating the economic hardship in the state, which has translated to severe hunger, which now ravage majority of the populace.

*THAT PEACE SHALL REIGN IN IMO STATE*

Events in our dear Imo State in the past few weeks have become worrisome and of serious concern to all and sundry.

The rising level of insecurity in our state is disturbing, and this makes it imperative, for every well meaning Imolite to support the efforts of our able Governor, Dist. Senator Hope Uzodimma to restore peace and sanity in our beloved  State.

The activities of unknown gunmen in our State recently, portend grave implications and dire economic consequences for the state.

Imo State noted for peace, and the people noted for their hospitality, is gradually descending into the valley of the absurd. We cannot let this be.

I condemn in it’s entirety, the gruesome murder of former Presidential Adviser, Alh. Ahmed Gulak in Imo State.

I equally hail our Northern brothers for exercising restraint in the face of extreme provocation by not engaging in reprisal attacks, which perhaps, was the intention of those behind the dastardly murder of Alh. Gulak.

It is also disheartening the unwanton killing of security personnel, the destruction of Police Stations, and offices of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in the State. This is unacceptable.

However, I strongly advise the unknown gunmen to ceasefire, considering the negative impacts of their activities,  which has not only led to the militarization of our State, but also the needless killings of innocent civilians, with the potential of stunting the growth of the economy of the State.

Violence can never be a substitute for peace. This is why it is imperative that the unknown gunmen sheath their swords and follow the path of restraint.

All over the world, governments at all levels; owe it a responsibility to carter for the security and well being of the governed.

This is why it is necessary the State government should urgently tackle the root cause(s) of insecurity in the State, by creating job opportunities for thousands of our  jobless youths.

The State government should also focus on ameliorating the economic hardship in the state, which has translated to severe hunger, which now ravage majority of the populace.

The conspiracy of silence by some of our politicians on this raging matter is not acceptable.

It is not the sole priority of the State government to fight insecurity, but the concern of all and sundry, regardless of political leanings or affiliation,  to ensure protection of lives and property.

In this regard, all hands must be on deck to tackle insecurity in Imo State before it gets out of hand.
