The All Progressive Congress, APC may have availed the duo of former Governor of Imo State, Senator Rochas Okorocha, Senator Ifeanyi Araraume, and others, fresh opportunity to revalidate their membership of the party.
Okorocha Araraume, and their political footsoldiers, including some members of the House of Representatives such as Hon.Ugonna Ozuruigbo, Hon Paschal Obi, had boycotted the first membership revalidation exercise of the party in the State.
The Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Commitee, CECPC, had last week, announced extension of the exercise for two weeks in five States, Imo inclusive.
Okorocha and co are known to have a running battle with Governor Hope Uzodimma over the soul of the APC in Imo State.
While Uzodimma insists he is the leader of the party in the State, Okorocha had accused the Governor of attempting to blackmail him out of the APC in Imo State.
He insists that his ally, Dan Nwafor, is the State Chairman of party in Imo State, but his claims seems to hold no water, as the Uzodimma backed Marcel Nlemigbo caretaker Commitee is duly recognized by the CECPC.
However, the Imo State APC Membership Registration/Revalidation Commitee, says it is ready to commence the two weeks exercise in the State.
It stated “As a consequence, the exercise have been adequately deployed to all the registered centers and registration supervisors and officers at the various centers to attend to all those who were not able to register previously for various reasons especially the security challenges at that time”
In a statement signed by Godwin Anaughe, Chairman and Edofor Emakpor, Secretary, the Commitee implored “all intending or interested persons should therefore take advantage of this opportunity to register”
