The All Progressive Congress, APC, in Imo State, has given reasons why it proceeded with its Congresses despite an order of Federal High Court,Abuja,which reportedly restrained it from doing so.
Duke Cajethan, the party’s spokesman, said in Owerri, that the ward Congress went on because the party was not served with the certified true copy of the the Order purportedly issued by the Federal High Court
According to him, Anyikwa, the applicant is not known to the party or a member of the APC in Imo State.
“Anyone who did not participate in the just concluded membership revalidation and registration exercise undertaken by the party is not a member of the party” he was quoted to have said.
However, reports reaching this newspaper indicate that the ward Congress went on successfully across the State as scheduled.
This newspaper gathered that Anyikwa, who claimed to be Chairman of the APC in Ideato South LGA had gone to Federal High Court, Abuja, where he sought and got an injunction restraining the APC in Imo State from proceding with the conduct of Congresses, on the basis of the judgement of the Appeal Court, that upheld the tenure of the State Executive elected in 2018
