Court Orders Forfeiture Of Properties Linked To Okorocha

More trouble seems to be ahead for former Imo State Governor, Senator Rochas Okorocha, as Justice Fred Njemanze of Owerri High Court, has ordered permanent Forfeiture of more government assets in the custody of the former governor.

The Judge further ruled that all properties contained in pages 226 to 272 of the Imo State Government White Paper gazette on recovery of lands and properties belonging to Imo State, be recovered.

Recall that the Imo State government had embarked on recovery of government properties in Okorocha’s custody based on the white paper, which emanated from a Judicial Panel of Inquiry on Recovery of Imo State government assets and properties.

The former governor who represents Orlu senatorial zone at the Senate, resisted had attempts by officials of the Imo State Government to recover Royal Palm Suites, Owerri, an exquisite estate linked to his wife, Nneoma.

The former governor was arrested by the Police after a messy clash with agents of the State government. He was later released.
