The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Imo State, Friday, said it’s leadership led by Engr. Charles Ugwuh, has accepted the resignation of its former Publicity Secretary, Mr.Ogubundu Nwadike.
Nwadike had dumped the opposition party for the All Progressive Congress, APC on Tuesday citing personal reasons for his action.
In a statement signed by Mazi Emenike Nmerrgini, the party said it wishes Mr.Nwadike well in his future endeavours.
The statement reads:
“The leadership of the PDP Imo State, led by Engr. Charles Ugwu has accepted the resignation of its former Publicity Secretary, Mr. Ogubundu Nwadike, on behalf of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Imo State.
“Mr. Nwadike had in a letter dated 15/09/2021 notified the party of his resignation as the State Publicity Secretary of the party, and his membership.
“The State Working Committee of the PDP Imo State after deliberation, has accepted the decision of Mr. Ogubundu Nwadike and wish him well in his future endeavours.
“The party wishes to inform the general public that there is no vacuum in the office, as Mazi Emenike Nmeregini has since assumed duties being the Assistant State Publicity Secretary of the party as provided by the Constitution of the Peoples Democratic Party, pending when an official appointment will be made to replace the former Publicity Secretary.
“The party urges its members and supporters to remain steadfast to the ideals of the party.
