President Muhammadu Buhari has said he is anxious for the success of the APC governorship candidate in the November 6 Anambra governorship election, Senator Andy Uba.

Buhari spoke when he received Uba alongside APC Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Commitee CECPC Chairman, and Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, Imo State Governor and Chairman, APC Anambra Guber campaign Council, Senator Hope Uzodimma and other party leaders, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

“I m happy to formally welcome you. I certainly wish you the best of luck. I m anxious for your success, and will closely follow” the President said.

Speaking after meeting the President, Uba, who polled 230,201 votes to beat other aspirants to emerge as the APC flagbearer for the Anambra governorship election, said “I was surprised at the endorsement of Mr.President and what he said to me today came from his heart. You know everybody was shocked at what he said”

Uba also spoke on the rift between himself and his two brothers,Chris and Ugochukwu, who are also aspirants in the contest.

“We are not divided. And I will tell you for sure that we are not divided. At the end, everybody will see that we are not divided. We are going to win Anambra State, APC will win Anambra State under me

“We have been talking with the governor of Imo, I can tell you that we have had meetings, we have agreed on what am I going to do” he said.

Mai Mala Buni, Chairman, caretaker and convention planning Commitee said the All Progressive Grand Alliance APGA, is not a threat to the APC despite being the ruling party in Anambra State.
