Business tycoon and a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress, APC, in Imo State, Prince (Dr) Alex Mbata, has heaped praises on Imo State Governor, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, on the sucessful visit of President Muhammadu Buhari to Imo State.
Speaking to newsmen in Owerri shortly after President Buhari’s visit, Dr.Mbata, congratulated Governor Uzodimma for defying the odds, including blackmail and media terrorism orchestrated by the opposition in the State, against the visit of Mr. President.
He also congratulated Governor Uzodimma for using the visit to bring key Igbo leaders together, the first of it’s kind after a long time, such as the Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe, Rtd Gen Ike Nwachukwu, leaders of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo, including it’s President, George Obiozor, among many other notable Igbo leaders.
“Governor Uzodimma has become a rallying point in Igboland and he should be commended for bringing Igbo leaders together after a very long time” Mbata said.
Dr. Mbata noted that the working visit of President Buhari to Imo State, the first to the State by a sitting President in 13 years, is an attestation of the fact, that Governor Hope Uzodimma, posses the capacity of an astute leader, whose overwhelming commitment to the development of Imo State should be encouraged by well meaning citizens of the State.
Dr.Mbata said “Governor Hope Uzodimma deserves accolades for bringing Mr.President to Imo State, at a period the South East is plagued by issues of insecurity”
“Presidential visits are not easy to come by, particularly at this period and it is only a man of solid and impeccable character, a dogged, focused and determined leader, such as Distinguished Senator Uzodimma can achieve such a feat”
“He deserves our support and encouragement to motivate him, to carry on with the 3R mantra, geared towards the overall development of our dear Imo State.
Dr.Mbata continued “Some of the projects commissioned by the President during his visit to the State, is a reflection of the success and milestones achieved by the Shared prosperity administration of Governor Uzodimma”
“I am confident that this presidential visit will certainly motivate our governor to do more”
“I urge him to continue to tow this path and be encouraged by this rare presidential visit to continue the wonderful and amazing work he is doing in the State”
Dr.Mbata stated that the gains of President Buhari’s visit to Imo State are numerous, because it inspires hope to all Imolites and the people of the South East zone, who are misled to hold on to erroneous impressions about Mr.President”
Mbata continued “President Buhari’s visit to Imo State has restored hope and confidence to our people in the South East.
“With this visit, Mr.President has reassured everyone, the artisans, the traditional rulers, the clergy, the men, women and the youths, that he means well for the good people of Imo State and the Igbo nation at large, contrary to the bundle lies spewed out against him by the opposition”
Dr.Mbata added that the parley between the President and some Igbo leaders during the visit, opens a of path mutual understanding between President Buhari and the Igbo nation, which will in the long run, benefit the South East politically and economically.
