Hope may have come the way of loyalists of Governor Hope Uzodimma, as the State Chief Executive is said to have concluded plans to announce a new cabinet seven months after he sent his exco members packing.
He had in April sacked 20 Commissioners, and retained nine of them. A month later, he sacked over 90 Special Advisers and Senior Special Assistants, SSAs, in a major sweep of his Expanded State Executive Council.
Two Commissioners- C.O.C Akaolisa- Attorney General and Mr. Osuala- Budget and Planning- were recalled.
Information Commissioner, Declan Emelumba, had said the sack of the appointees were part of measures to “rejig” the administration.
INNONEWS had exclusively reported in June that Governor Uzodimma would reconstitute his cabinet after the congress of the All progressive Congress, APC.
The ward and local government congress had taken place in August and September. The State Congress took place on October 16 producing new state Executives.
After a long wait and with the congress over, sources said the Governor has focused on reconstituting his cabinet- drawing up a list of Commissioners, Special Advisers and Senior Special Assistants. The designation of Special Advisers may be changed to Special Technical Advisers, STAs, this newspaper was told.
