As the Anambra State governorship election holds on Saturday, November 6, 2021, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), in Imo State has declared 3 days prayer and fasting for Prof Chukwuma Soludo, the party’s governorship candidate in the election.

The party said the prayer and fasting session is to invoke God to continue to strengthen it and its candidate to win the governorship poll, saying God who knows, sees everything will blind and confuse election riggers, to enable Chukwuma Soludo cruise to victory as the people of the state desire.

The Imo State chapter Chairman of APGA, Hon John Iwuala, while addressing leaders of the party at its Secretariat in Owerri on Wednesday, maintained that the party is ready for the election, which he warned must not be rigged by the APC led federal government.

The party Chairman stated that it has the confidence that the military, the police and other security personnel deployed to Anambra State in respect to the election will not be used by the authorities to rig the election to favour the APC

He said  “We are poised to win the election in Anambra State. Be rest assured that APGA will win the election to consolidate good governance and strengthen good living and security.

“Imo APGA has been working effortlessly to support Anambra APGA to win the election. Go home and deliver Soludo, for security will be intact. Yes, the election cannot be rigged and anybody who tries to rig the election may not get home alive”.

He recalled that the Imo State chapter of APGA in alliance with some citizens of Anambra State resident in Imo State donated vehicles and other relevant items to support Soludo’s campaign.

Iwuala urged party members to boldly come out en masse and vote for APGA to win the election.

He stated “Security personnel has been positioned to safeguard voters in the election. So, do not be afraid. Rather use your ballot wisely to affect your lives positively”.

On Imo State Local Government Area election tentatively billed for March 2022 by the Imo State Independent Electoral Commission, ISIEC, the party Chairman noted that APGA will participate fully in the election, which will be conducted in all the 305 INEC Wards of the state.

He called on ISIEC, the Imo State government and the APC to ensure that admissible ground is created to enable all interested political parties to participate fully in the council poll. He called on Imo people especially the elite to rise and caution APC against manipulating the entire council poll.
