Football fans in Imo State are set for some exciting times as the Imo 3R ISAMATA football tournament takes centre stage.
The tournament kicks off on November 14, 2021 at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri.
A statement released by the organizers of the event stated that “this unique football festival is the first of its kind, specially packaged for all the markets in Imo State and the traders a rare opportunity for IMO traders to unwind play and entertain customers and clients, this time on the football pitch.
“To underscore the importance of this competition, His Excellency, the Executive Governor of the State, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma has given his blessings to the IMO 3R ISAMATA Football Tournament.
“Consequently the Honourable Commissioner of Youth and Sports development,Hon Dan Chike Ogu is working hand in glove with the ISAMATA President Hon Ezeanochie Emmanuel and his executive to ensure a successful outing.
“The Ministry is deploying her facilities, personnel and technical know-how to ensure a grand event.
Chairman Tournament Organizing Committee, Chief Ifeanyi Igwe is optimistic that the tournament will achieve its set objectives of building bridges, promoting healthy living and lifestyle, entertainment and the discovery of hidden talents amongst traders in Imo markets.
“He therefore urged Imolites to turn out in their numbers on the 14th Of November at the Dan Anyiam Stadium for an exciting spectacle.” the statement concluded.
