The Federal High Court, Abuja, presided by Justice Binta Nyako, Wednesday, during continued hearing on allegations of treasonable felony against Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, leader of Indigenous People Of Biafra, IPOB.
During the resumed hearing, the presiding judge ordered the DSS to among other things ensure henceforth, Kanu, be given maximum comfort possible in detention facility.
She also ordered that he be allowed a change of clothing, and be allowed free practice of his jewish faith including access to his jewish religious materials.
Other directives of the court as contained in a statement signed by his Kanu’s counsel, Aloy Ejimaofor, include “That the DSS obey all previous orders granted in the matter, including allowing Kanu any visitor, and that Kanu be permitted, at his option, to mingle freely with other inmates or any other person’s at the detention facility.
Kanu was not in court and the DSS did not give reasons for not producing the IPOB leader.
The matter was adjourned to January 18, 2022.
