Opposition political leaders in Imo State, have united after the arrest of Uche Nwosu by the Police.

Nwosu, son in law of former governor of Imo State, Senator Rochas Okorocha and 2019 governorship candidate of the Action Alliance, AA, was arrested by the Police in a gestapo style on December 26 at St Andrews Anglican Church in Nkwerrre LGA of Imo State.

Nwosu said he was abducted, accusing Governor Hope Uzodimma of masterminding his abduction.

His arrest has become a rallying point for the opposition leaders in the State, particularly top and leading politicians in the All Progressive Congress, APC, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA.

Before Nwosu’s ordeal, former governor Emeka Ihedioha had reconciled with Senator Rochas Okorocha at the funeral of Uche Nwosu’s mother in Nkwerrre.

National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, was among early callers at Okorocha’s Spilbat Mansion, Owerri, where he went to console with the former governor and Nwosu over the latter’s predicament.

Senator Ifeanyi Araraume has not officially reacted to Nwosu’s arrest, but he is a known ally of Senator Okorocha.

The All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, has also joined the fray.

John Iwuala, State Chairman of the party, had condemned the manner Nwosu was arrested, alleging that Nwosu is a victim of political victimization.

He had said Governor Uzodimma should prepare his handover note in 2023/24.
