2023: Elective Office Seekers In Uzodimma’s Camp To Know Fate After APC Convention

Hundreds of loyalists, friends and allies of Governor Hope Uzodimma, may have to wait after the National Convention of the All Progressives Congress, APC before declaring their intentions for various elective positions.

The APC is due to hold it’s national convention on February 26, 2022 in Abuja.

The convention is expected to elect national party officers, who will pilot the affairs of the party ahead of the 2023 general elections.

INNONEWS observed that the uncertainty over the national convention had slowed down the pace of loyalists, friends and associates of the governor who want to run for one elective position or the other in the State.

This has been identified as the major reason why aspirants for House of Assembly, House of Representatives and the Senate in the party, have to slow down their aspiration.

Another source told INNONEWS that aside the national convention of the APC, Governor Uzodimma is yet to clear the coast for his appointees, friends and loyalists who want to run for one elective position or the other.

The source said “Before anyone in the governor’s camp decide to run for any elective office in 2023, there is need for consultation.

“And for some of the appointees who may want to run, he has to give them go ahead to do so else you may be running a blind race”

With party Primaries expected to hold in August, there has been dull moment in the political landscape of the State as aspirants are not forthcoming for various elective positions.
