A possible romance between the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Imo State, may not be feasible.

Many had anticipated a political relationship or understanding between the two opposition parties in the bid to oust the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC, in 2023/24 guber election.

There were reports in the social media that Ihedioha may contemplate a move to APGA.

Top level sources in APGA had told INNONEWS that “some bigwigs in PDP and APC are secretly romancing APGA”

However at separate events, former governor of Imo State, Emeka Ihedioha and Imo State Chairman of APGA, John Iwuala, dismissed reports of a possible APGA/PDP romance

Iwuala, at a press conference on Monday January 3, 202, held at the state secretariat of the party, said “APGA has been reinforced and is ready to sack the APC from Douglas House in 2023 and defeat the PDP in the coming elections in the State”.

Ihedioha reportedly told party members to remain committed to the PDP.

He told PDP stakeholders from Ngor Okpala LGA, who visited him at his Mbutu country home that the PDP will take over the reins of power in Imo State in 2023.

He said he is focusing on the future after his 2019 Imo governorship debacle.

He told PDP members to go home and register because a lot of people want to join the party because the APC has disappointed the people of Imo State

“Be steadfast. Be patient. This suffering will not last forever” Ihedioha told party members.
