APC Shifts National Convention, Uzodimma Hosts Party Stakeholders

For the upteeeth time, the governing All Progressives Congress, APC, has settled for a shift in date for its national convention.

INNONEWS was reliably informed on Sunday night that the Caretaker Extraordinary Convention and Planning Committee, CECPC led by Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, took the decision to postpone the party’s national convention.

The  Convention, which has been bone of contention in the party, was earlier scheduled to hold on Saturday, February 26, 2022.

Though an official statement is awaited from the party, it was gathered that the convention will hold in two weeks time.

President Muhammadu Buhari, is expected to meet with State Governors elected on the party’s platform on Tuesday, to discuss the way forward on the party’s national convention.

The meeting earlier planned to hold last Tuesday, was put off shortly before the President left the country for a four day official visit to Brussels, Belgium to attend the EU- AU Summit.

Meanwhile, Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, is scheduled to meet party stakeholders at the APC Secretariat in Owerri, on Monday, 21st February, a statement by the party stated.

According to the releases signed by the party’s publicity secretary, Cajethan Duke, those to attend are “the  Deputy Governor of Imo State,All former Governors and Deputy Governors, All APC Members of the National Assembly, All Federal Appointees, All APC Members of IMHA, All Former Speakers and former members of IMHA, All Members of the State Executive Committee, All serving and former commissioners, All serving and former SA’s and SSAs, All LGA Interim Management Committee chairmen, All DGs of agencies and commissions, All LGA party Chairmen, Secretaries, Women and Youth leaders”
