Authoritative sources told INNONEWS that as the race for the 2023 presidential election draws close, about two senior Ministers and a junior Minister from the South East, may join the presidential contest sooner or later.

With feelers from government circles that those who intend to run for President should leave the Buhari administration by the end of February, this could also compel other Ministers from other regions with presidential ambition to resign and contest.

This newspaper was informed that there will be more declarations for the presidency in the APC, after the party’s national convention on February 26.

Already, three prominent Igbo political leaders and top leaders of the governing All Progressives Congress- Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, Senator Rochas Okorocha and Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State, have already joined the presidential contest.

However, there are strong indications that Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, may also join the race.

Ngige was one time governor of Anambra State and one of the founding members of the APC.

It is unclear if Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, will equally take a shot at the presidency in 2023.

Onu, thus far has not shown interest but has been urged by well meaning Nigerians to do so on the basis of his spartan brand of politics.

Onu, was former governor of old Abia State and 1999 Presidential flagbearer of now defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party, ANPP.

Emeka Nwajiuba, Minister of State, Education, is also speculated to nurse the ambition to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari.

Nwajiuba, a former member of the House of Representatives and serial governorship aspirant in Imo State, is been urged by some support groups to run for President.
