Egbema Illegal Refinery Fire Disaster, One Death Too Many- Ihedioha

Former Governor of Imo State, Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha, has described the Egbema illegal refinery fire incident, as one death too many.

In a statement signed by his Media aide, Mr. Chibuike Onyeukwu, Ihedioha said the incident was unfortunate and unavoidable.

He called for full investigation and prosecution of those behind the carnage to avert future occurrence.

“This is one loss too many. My heart bleeds for the victims, families and affected communities of this unfortunate and avoidable disaster.

He said “It is a period of grief and sober reflection for our State, which has been bedevilled by insecurity and other challenges”

He called for a deliberate action to nip in the bud, increasing activities of illegal refinery and bunkering in the State.
