*National Secretary, Senator Anyanwu Denies Allegations Of Hijacking Congress Materials*
There is tension in the Imo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, over the party’s ward congress.
Youths of the party had stormed the State Party Secretariat, located at Okigwe road, Owerri on Saturday alleging that congress sheets have been hijacked by the party’s National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu.
The delegation from Abuja were held hostage by the angry youths , whom they claimed said Senator Anyanwu, is in possession of the congress sheets.
Anyanwu however swiftly denied the allegations.
In a statement signed by his media aide, Mr. Ikenna Onuoha and made available to INNONEWS in Owerri, he said “the truth of the matter is that Senator Anyanwu as National Secretary of PDP cannot and could not have reduced himself to the level of hijacking a local Ad-Hoc Delegate Congress when the party clearly set up Committee for that purpose”
“This claim is entirely false and replete with gross untruths aimed at misleading the public against the unbiased efforts of a committee members delegated to conduct the exercise.
“The public is most sincerely urged to disregard this story, as it remains an orchestrated ploy to blackmail a hardworking PDP National Scribe” part of the statement stated.
