Barring unforeseen circumstances, the All Progressives Congress, APC, may have settled for an indirect mode of primaries, INNONEWS can authoritatively reveal.

National Chairman of the party, Senator Abdulllahi Adamu, had recently said the party would hold its primaries in three ways- direct, indirect or consensus.

This newspaper however gathered from impeccable sources that President Muhammadu Buhari may have approved the use of indirect primary.

The party had opted for consensus to elect its National Chairman and some members of the National Working Committee, NWC.

There has been no official confirmation of the report, but some top party officials say “the President may secretly throw his weight behind a candidate, but will allow the presidential aspirants a level playing ground to fight for the party’s ticket”

“However, at the moment , he is yet to show his preference to a particular aspirant. All the noise in the media about adopting an aspirant is not true or genuine.

“The idea of consensus is a time- tomb, which may implode the party if not properly managed.

Recall that President Buhari, had last month said he will not reveal his choice aspirant to fly the APC presidential ticket, saying doing so, may led to the elimination of the candidate.

The APC had last week released dates for primaries.
