Some loyalists and political followers of former Governor of Imo State, Senator Rochas Okorocha have dumped the the All Progressives Congress, APC for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Some of those who have decamped to the opposition party are two members of the House of Representatives, Hon Ugonna Ozuruigbo and Hon Paschal Obi.

The duo have purchased the PDP Nomination and Expression Of Interest Forms to seek a return to the green chambers of the House of Representatives.

Ozuruigbo was Deputy Speaker, Imo State House of Assembly when Okorocha was governor of Imo State, while Paschal Obi served the former governor as Principal Secretary.

INNONEWS learnt that more defections from Okorocha’s camp are expected in the coming days as primaries of both political parties draw close.

The move is predicated on uncertainty being expressed by Okorocha’s men on where the pendulum of justice would swing in the matter before the Supreme Court on the authentic leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Imo State.

Governor Hope Uzodimma and Senator Okorocha have been entangled in a bitter war over the soul of the APC in the State.

Dan Nwafor, an ally of Okorocha has consistently insisted that he is the authentic Chairman of the party in the State, citing a Court of Appeal judgement in his favour.

Despite Nwafor’s claims, the APC in the State is run by Governor Hope Uzodimma’s men led by Hon Mac Donald Ebere, who is the State Party Chairman.

The Supreme Court is expected to give verdict on the matter on May 27, a judgement which is expected to put an end, a long drawn political battle for the control of the APC in Imo State.

Despite defections of Okorocha’s allies to the PDP, the Senator representing Imo West Senatorial Zone, is seeking the presidential ticket of the APC.
