As the crisis over Imo PDP Ad hoc Delegates Congress linger, the National Secretary of the Party, Senator Samuel Anyanwu has called for the arrest of Ikenga Ugochinyere, a House of Representatives aspirant in Imo State.
Ugochinyere is also the spokesman of Coalition of United Political Parties, CUPP.
He had expressed fears that the involvement of Senator Anyanwu in activities of the party leading to the Primary may result to PDP’s exclusion from participating in the 2023 elections.
To counter Ikenga’s claims, Mr. Ikenna Onuoha, Media aide to the PDP National Scribe in a statement made available to INNONEWS, described Ikenga as a bad loser.
“For calling for the removal of the National Secretary of PDP, Ikenga Ugochinyere has shown he is a bad loser, who rabble rouses on every issues that are beyond him.
“A man who was accused of mobiizing some dangerously looking youths suspected to be cultists to harass, intimidate and abuse members of Commitee constituted by the National leadership of PDP to conduct ad hoc delegate Congress in the State should be immediately arrested and prosecuted”
“Ikenga Ugochinyere should be fair to tell the world why he was arrested by the DSS, and why he has become a regular court visitor if not for act inimical to the society” part of the statement read.
Recall that crisis had erupted on Saturday at the headquarters of the State Secretariat of the PDP in Owerri, when some youths held hostage Commitee members assigned from Abuja to Imo State to conduct ad hoc delegates Congress.
Senator Anyanwu was accused of hijacking the Congress result sheets, an allegation his aide also denied, saying the Senator could not reduce himself to the level of hijacking results sheets.
