Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has washed his hands off any endorsement of any aspirant for elective positions as primaries of the All progressives Congress, APC draw near.
The Governor told visiting party leaders and stakeholders at Government House, Owerri that he has no preferred aspirant.
Uzodimma spoke on the heels of allegations that he has adopted some aspirants as consensus candidates ahead of the fast approaching APC primaries in the State.
This is said to have slowed down the pace of aspirants in purchasing Nomination and Expression of Interest forms.
He said “ Go and buy your forms if you are convinced that you want to contest, you do not need my approval to buy form.Pursue your own ambition”
“The decision whether to contest or not is your personal decision.
Do not say that the Governor stopped you from contesting”
“Consider the local characteristics of your area if there is a zoning arrangement also show your commitment to the party if you did not succeed” he said.
He reminded all aspirants that only those who worked for the party in one way or the other will be rewarded.
