Labour, Employment and Productivity Minister, Chris Ngige, has said he withdrew from the presidential race after consulting widely with his family, constituents, supporters and well wishers.

“Having also consulted widely with my family, constituents, supporters and well wishers, it is my pleasure to announce the withdrawal of my interest and earlier decision to contest the office of the President in the 2023 general elections” Ngige said in a statement he issued in Abuja on Friday

He also revealed that he had an audience with President Muhammadu Buhari over the development after he earlier met him on his political ambition.

Ngige had three weeks ago declared his intention to be President at Alor in Anambra State.

He was in attendance when President Buhari held a valedictory session for some Ministers who resigned to aspire for various elective offices.
