Imo NUJ Correspondents Chapel Raises Alarm Over Impersonators

The Correspondents Chapel of Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Imo State, has raised an alarm, alerting the public of impersonators.

In a statement in Owerri and signed by Chris Njoku and Ugonna Uzoma, Chairman and Secretary of the Union,  the group said the impersonators are defrauding members of the public.

The statement reads:

“The attention of the Correspondents Chapel  has been drawn to the activities of some group of persons masquerading as Journalists and going about impersonating correspondents of some National Newspapers in a bid to defraud members of the public

“We warn that this group of fraudsters  are neither employees of teh organizations they claimed nor members of the  Correspondents Chapel of the Imo Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ)

“We advise here that when such people approach you, please request to see their identity cards or call the Chairman of the Correspondents Chapel or the Secretary on the following numbers to confirm their claims: Chris Njoku – Chairman-08133446781 or Ugonna Uzoma- Secretary -08065838963
