After Resisting Arrest, EFCC Finally Whisks Away Okorocha

*I Was Held Hostage- Ex Governor*

Former Governor of Imo State, Senator Rochas Okorocha, has been finally whisked away by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

Operatives of the anti graft agency had stormed the Maitama, Abuja residence of the APC presidential aspirant on Tuesday.

For several hours, Okorocha resisted arrest.

He told Channels tv he was held hostage by the EFCC operatives who came to arrest him without an arrest warrant.

Gunshots were said to have shot during the invasion of the house of the Senator representing Imo West Senatorial District in the Senate.

EFCC had claimed that Okorocha jumped an administrative bail he was granted and had refused to respond to long standing invitations.

The Commission had filed a 17 count charge against Okorocha before an Abuja Federal High Court on January 24.

He  is accused of diverting public properties worth N2.9 billion while he was governor of Imo State.
