27 Imo APC House Of Assembly Candidates Emerge, Eight Lawmakers Lose Reps Ticket

The 27 candidates elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC for Imo House of Assembly have emerged, INNONEWS learnt.

The Speaker, Kennedy Ibe, Deputy Speaker, Amara Iwuanyanwu and Majority Leader, Kanayo Onyemachi, won return tickets.

About nine members of the House, including two former Speakers of the House, Chiji Collins and Paul Emeziem however lost return tickets at the just concluded party primaries.

Also those who did not to return to the House, are Uche Ogbuagu (Mbaitoli) who sought for the Reps ticket of the party for Mbaitoli/Ikeduru Federal Constituency, but withdrew.

Akarachi Amadi,  the son of business mogul, Prince Charles Amadi, was declared winner of the primary.

However, available information to this newspaper indicates that Ogbuagu withdrew from the contest over manipulation of the process.

In a letter to the State Chairman seen by this newspaper , Ogbuagu withdrew “having discovered that the Delegates list to be used for the exercise was single handedly prepared by Chief Charles Amadi whose son, Engr Akachi Amadi is contesting same position with me”

“Having complained and nobody cares to save the situation, I hereby most honourably wish to withdraw from the race” the letter stated

Other members of the State Assembly who vied for House of Reps ticket of the APC, but crashed at the primary are Uju Onwudiwe (Njaba), Ngozi Obiefule (Isu), Arthur Egwim (Ideato North), Micheal Crown Njoku (Ihitte Uboma) and Blyden Amajirionwu (Ngor Okpala).

Mrs Onwudiwe, a two term member was said to have stepped down for Harrison Nwadike, while Amajirionwu, who was newly elected to the House lost to Ifeanyi Akwiti. Also, Hon Crown Njoku crumbled in his quest to represent Obowo, Ihitte Uboma and Ehime Mbano Federal Constituency.
