As primaries of the All Progressives Congress, APC and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP draws near, the race for Orlu senatorial seat has intensified, with about seven or more aspirants eying the zone’s senate seat in the two political parties.
In the APC, it is a two horse race between former member of House of Representatives and aide to Governor Hope Uzodimma, Hon. Goodluck Opiah and Senator Osita Izunaso. There are reports that Chief Charles Ahizie and Hon Amaechi Nwoha are also in the contest.
The APC will hold its Senate and House of Assembly primaries on Friday, May 27th, 2022.
In the Peoples Democratic Party, two former members of the House of Representatives, Hon ThankGod Ezeani and Hon Jones Onyeriri, are the major contenders in Orlu zone in the party.
Also, the member representing Orlu/Orsu/Oru East constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon Jerry Alagbaso is also eying the party’s senatorial ticket,which makes the race a three horse race in the PDP.
