*Party Candidates Capable Of Propelling Victory For APC In Imo*

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Imo State, Hon Eugene Anyanwu, has advised Governor Hope Uzodimma, to reposition the party ahead of the 2023 general elections in the State.

In an open letter to the Governor and made available to INNONEWS, the Obowo born party chieftain, said “the APC in the State needs to be rejigged in order to gain more wider acceptability in the eyes of the electorate in the State ahead of the 2023 polls”

He said this became imperative after the party primaries at all levels which produced candidates for various positions for the party.

He stated that “though there are misgivings expressed by some party chieftains over the conduct of the primaries, those elected as party flag-bearers in the State, deserve to be encouraged and supported to win the general polls for the party”

He noted that “all candidates who emerged at the Primaries posses the capacity to propel victory for party in the 2023 elections

He however pointed out that party members, including those who won and lost during the primaries, must be glued together to ensure victory for the APC in the State.

He said the need to reposition the party, became necessary “considering emerging political patterns and dynamics in the country

“Your Excellency, there is no doubt that our great party must be repositioned for victory in the coming elections in Imo State, in view of the changing political dynamics and pattern in the country.

“Such dynamics are also prevalent in our State.

“This makes it imperative for our party members to be motivated to stay glued together as one united family, in order to retain our position as the ruling party not only in Nigeria, but in Imo State.

Anyanwu called on Governor Uzodimma to take cognisance of such emerging political dynamics, which if ignored, may not augur well for the APC in the forthcoming elections in the State.

“Your Excellency, we cannot be oblivious of the fact, that our party may not have tilted towards granting an Igbo, the Presidential ticket of our great party at the just concluded presidential primary, which you successfully supervised and conducted.

“This has infuriated majority of our people and unfortunately portrayed our great party, as being unfeeling to the genuine quest of our people to have an Igbo as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in 2023

“I must admit that this is not your making, but we must be truthful to ourselves by admitting that the rating of our party has waned over this development.

“The bitter truth is APC in the State risks electoral misfortune, if we fail to convince our people that our great party remains the most viable pathway for the progress of our people, and development of our State.

“While I salute the leadership of the party in the State led by Mr.Mac Donald Ebere for their efforts thus far for the party, we must never lose sight of these political ticking time bombs and work together as one united political family to avert it’s explosion.

Anyanwu called for a Stakeholders meeting of the party in the State “to brainstorm on the way forward for the party”

“I urge Your Excellency, to please summon a stakeholders meeting of our party stakeholders, where we will brainstorm on how to navigate our party to victory in the the 2023 elections in the State” part of the letter stated.
