PHOTOS: Fight Against Flood: Uzodimma Inspects Waterways, Roads, Ongoing Projects

As part of plans to eradicate flooding in Owerri and environs, Governor Hope Uzodimma, Friday, visited Rapour Junction in Amakohia and Akwakuma junction road, in Owerri, Imo State capital, as de-silting of the waterways in the areas begins.

The Governor during the inspection urged residents blocking the waterways and drainages, to stop and evacuate illegal structures to enable the free flow of water during the raining season to avoid flooding.

He expressed satisfaction at the quality of job on ground and also urged the Contractors to hasten their efforts.

Recall that the balloon technology was applied by the State government at strategic areas in the state, such as Egbu/Dick Tiger, which earned encomiums on Governor Hope Uzodimma by residents and commuters.
