Nyesom  Wike, Rivers State Governor, has turned the beautiful bride of Nigerian politics, ahead of the 2023 presidential election.

The tough talking Governor had vied for the presidential ticket of the main opposition, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, but lost to former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar.

Wike later emerged the choice of a special Committee selected to recommend and select Atiku’s Running Mate. For reasons best known to Atiku, he preferred Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi  Okowa as his  Running Mate.

There has been peace of the graveyard in the PDP since Atiku choose Okowa over Wike.

Since then, the Rivers State Governor is reported to have shunned attempts to broker peace or truce with the former Vice President.

This has led to noticeable panic in the PDP across the country seven months to the presidential election.

Since the Atiku/Wike feud erupted, the latter has been courted by several political gladiators across the country.

Labour party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, had visited Wike in Port Harcourt. Details of the meeting were not revealed to the public, but many contend that Obi was wooing support from Wike.

However, the panic in the PDP may have heightened, following a private meeting between three Governors of the All Progressives Congress, APC, with  Wike. The three Governors- Rotimi Akeredolu (Ondo), Babajide Sanwo Olu (Lagos) and Kayode Fayemi (Osun), visited Wike in Port Harcourt.

Again, though details are yet to emanate why the three Governors of the ruling party are in talks wit Wike, it may be unconnected to perceived plans by the ruling party to woo the Rivers State Governor to the governing party.
