Former Imo State Chairman of Abundant Nigeria Renewal Party, ANRP, Mr. Chibuike Oziri Nwachukwu, has lambasted the Speaker, Imo State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Kennedy Ibe, for his comments, wherein he said, Imo State is for Bola Tinubu and not for Mr. Peter Obi.
Nwachukwu, in his reaction to the Speaker’s comments, in a statement in Owerri, described it as senseless and irresponsible.
He said the Speaker, though entitled to his opinion, has no right to vilify or cast aspersions on Mr.Obi in his veiled desperation to please his political masters in the All Progressives Congress, APC.
He said “The Speaker, Hon Kennedy Ibe, should put his tongue in check.
“Casting aspersions on Peter Obi, the Labour party Presidential Candidate, just to praise Tinubu, is uncalled for and unnecessary.
“It is senseless on his part to deride or malign Mr Obi in his bid to support Asiwaju Tinubu.
“The Speaker should read the hand writing on the wall, as demonstrated by the people of Osun State who clearly rejected the APC during the just concluded Osun State governorship election.
“The outcome of the Osun State governorship election, is a tip of the iceberg of what will befall Tinubu and the APC across the country” he stated.
Mr. Nwachukwu further said Mr. Speaker was wrong in his assertion, because based on emerging political realities in the country, Bola Tinubu cannot defeat Peter Obi in Imo State or in any part of Igbo land.
“Mr.Speaker is either deceiving himself or wallowing in self delusion. He is not telling himself the truth, if he says Imo State is for Bola Tinubu.
“No sane Igbo man will vote for Tinubu or the APC during the presidential election because Tinubu is anti Igbo, anti Christian for opting for a Muslim/Muslim ticket.
Mr. Nwachukwu also called on the good people of Obowo State Constituency, whom the Speaker represents at the State Assembly, to vote out Hon Ibe in the next election.
“The good people of Obowo deserves better representation from Mr.Kennedy Ibe, and not for him to abdicate such responsibility and resort to antagonizing competent and credible men such as Mr.Peter Obi” he stated.
