The Labour party, LP presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, has been described as a money- bag politician, who belongs to the category of some corrupt politicians eying Nigeria’s Presidency in 2023.
Obi had in a video which went viral on the social media, said he is richer than United States President, Joe Biden.
He said he is richer than the American leader, who is worth $8.9m, because God had “over blessed him”
“I say to people, President Biden is worth 8.9 million USD. Why should somebody like me steal public money when I am richer than the American President? I am already over-blessed by God. We just need to develop our country.
Reacting to Obi’s comments, a political analyst based in Umuahia, Abia State, Mr. Cosmas Okere, said Obi has proved to be a money bag politician and belong to the same category with APC and PDP presidential candidates, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar.
“Obi has simply proved to us that he is no saint. If he is worth what he really says, it means he is a money bag politician and there is no difference between him, Tinubu and Atiku, who are also rated as money bag politicians eying the Nigerian Presidency.
“Obi, Tinubu and Atiku are in the category of money bags. They all held public offices, as former governors and a former Vice President and cannot convincingly absolve themselves of comcerns that they corruptly enriched themselves
“Nigerians do have perception about those who hold public offices, especially those who are out of public office and seeking for another elective office.
“Tinubu and Atiku are perceived to have made so much wealth after leaving public offices. Though they have invested in other businesses, there is widely belief that the source of their wealth came after they held public office.
“And if Obi says he is worth more than Joe Biden, it implies he must have left public office as a rich man.
“Like Tinubu and Atiku, Obi as well, cannot be trusted with public office. This justifies the insinuation that he took several billions of naira from Anambra State when he was governor which he allegedly used for his family business” he stated.
