Uzodimma: More Imo Citizens Should Be Included In FG’s Empowerment Programmes

Imo State need more of it’s citizens to be included in various empowerment programmes of the Muhammadu Buhari administration.

Hope Uzodimma, Governor of Imo State, stated this on Saturday, at the kick off of different empowerment programmes by the Federal Government for Imo citizens.

Governor Uzodimma, spoke at the Sam Mbakwe Hall of Imo Concorde Hotel, Owerri, venue of the empowerment programmes, which was attended by the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Hajia Sadiya Umar Farouq, alongside some poor and vulnerable persons, who came for the event.

The Governor praised the Minister for her passion about the programmes, which were initiated by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The Governor made it clear that the Buhari administration and his government in Imo State, are propelled by the desire to serve the people of the State, particularly the vulnerable groups, including the poorest of the poor and the physically challenged.

Uzodimma described the National Home Grown Feeding Programme as among the most noble programmes Nigerians have experienced, because it acomodates the interest of children.

In her remarks, Minister Farouq, said she was in Imo State, to disburse grant to over 3, 894 beneficiaries across the 27 local governments.

70 percent of the beneficiaries, according to her, must be women and 30 percent, should be for the youths, as instructed by President Muhammadu Buhari.

She commended Uzodimma for establishing a similar Ministry in Imo State, which she stated is the nearest to the common man.
