There is tension and anxiety in two communities in Imo State- Ogbor Uvuru in Aboh Mbaise LGA and Umuanum in Ngor Okpala LGA over a lingering and age long boundary dispute.
The hostilities between the two communities, which have been on going for decades, reared its ugly head again recently despite a temporary ceasefire in place.
According to reports, leaders of Ogbo Uvuru community are pushing for the intervention of the state government to find a lasting peace between the two warring communities. A concerned villager recalled how the dispute began as far back as 1936, which has led to clashes in the past.
A prominent traditional ruler in Ngor Okpala LGA, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that there is an existing judgement from a Court in Enugu on the matter.
He did not give further details of what the judgment was all about, neither did he confirm if there were casualties in the latest clashes.
