APC Unveil Plans On How To Win Owerri Zone

Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Imo State have unveiled a six point agenda geared towards ensuring victory for the party in Owerri zone and across the State.

Lemmy Akakem, the apex leader of the zone, said at a Town Hall meeting of the party at the weekend, that the APC is in a position to win the polls in the zone.

“In Owerri North alone, we have 34,000 members. That puts us in a strong position to win the forthcoming election.

“Check the statistics of Nigeria’s past elections, you will understand that the APC will win the presidency, Senate and all the candidates of the party in the State

“Winning election is not a highway patrol but of people and structure. So go and reach out to various associations of presidents general of autonomous communities and other stakeholders” he told teeming party members at the meeting held at Egbu, in Owerri North LGA.

In his remarks, the Special Adviser to Governor Hope Uzodimma on Political Matters, Barr Enyinnaya Onuegbu, said the Governor do have special care for Owerri zone.

“It’s a common practice for the State Governor to pick the party Chairman from his local government, but for him to pick the State Chairman of APC from Owerri Municipal, is a clear testimony of the governor’s love for Owerri zone” he said.

In his remarks, a chieftain of the party, Chief Henry Njoki, said the six point agenda of the state party leadership are well noted, assuring that Owerri North will not disappoint the party.

He recalled how the party’s Senatorial Candidate, Prince Alex Mbata paid for the party offices of the nine local governments in Owerri zone.
