Beyond political party leanings, Owerri Zone people must take a sincere and hard stand as the election comes nearer. They must critically and objectively evaluate the candidates put forward for the Senate seat. This is very important for the collective survival and developments of Owerri Zone. This more than any other considerations, makes it imperative for us to shine our eyes
In considerations of this important decisions and stand, more emphasis shall be made on the personal integrity contents, even dispositions and capacity to attract and deliver the dividends of democracy to the Owerri Zone people. The election is another opportunity for us to correct the ills and wrongs of the past. This is the time to start a serious and sincere engagements with our representatives. No longer shall we be quiet and in tacit endorsement of lacklustre and unproductive lumping of a Senator for our dear Zone.
In taking this stand, we must be fair, just and firm. We must start from the known. In this regard, we must interrogate the past in order to pass valid judgement and competently, engage the present for the success of the future.
Owerri Zone must come full blast on the candidates. Those who had enjoined the mandates of the people before should give us their score cards of performance. We cannot be deceived by high flowery talks and loud voices, neither shall we will be hoodwinked by quiet cunning. Owerri people across the Communities will insist on verifiable records of community developmental milestones from the candidates.
We must look towards the candidate who has done greater good for the people either as an elected person or private citizen. We must choose, support and elect the candidate who has graciously, selflessly and dedicatedly elevated the socioeconomic lives and capacities of the people across the political divides for better and greater socioeconomic engagements. The man who has put in place, the necessary support basis for the youths to harness their potentials in business, education and other areas of human resources as well as supported the aged, indigent and students. Not only this, the candidate who has provided the much necessary social infrastructure to complement the efforts in the economic and social activities.
In taking this stand, Nde Owerri Zone should interrogate, investigate and establish the candidate who has done commendably, starting from his immediate community.
Anyone found to have squandered opportunities of doing good for the people should be avoided irrespective of his political party. We cannot afford the rituals of complains and grumbling in the next dispensation. Those who trumpet their voices in such vainglorious manner, promoting thuggery and violence should be resisted. Only he who has proven beyond reasonable doubts that the people are the core and crux of the Senate representation should be considered for the position of the high office.
The person in all material, social and economic considerations is Prince Alex Mbata, the APC candidate for the Owerri Senatorial District’s seat. This is a verifiable fact. It is real. Prince Alex Mbata’s election as the Senator for Owerri Zone is the sincerely sacred stand Nde Owerri Zone should take.
