No South East State Among Top Six States With Highest Registered Voters

None of the five States in the South East are among the top six states in the federation listed with highest number of registered voters.

Checks by INNONEWS show that Lagos, Kano, Kaduna, Rivers, Katsina and Oyo States have the highest registered voters in the country.

Lagos leads with 7,075,192 registered voters, followed by Kano, which has 5,927,565 registered voters, while Kaduna, Rivers, Katsina and Oyo have 4,345,469; 3,532,990; 3,519,260 and 3,275,045 registered voters, respectively.

This was revealed by the Chairman, Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Prof Mahmoud Yakubu, who revealed that the voter register had gone up to 93.5M.

The South-East, which is the smallest geopolitical zone, and consists of five states — Ebonyi, Enugu, Abia, Anambra and Imo has a total of 10.9m voters.
