PAM is the acronymic realisation of the name, ‘Prince Alex Mbata.’ Acronyms make names laconic and form simple means of recognition and even reduces pronunciation problems. Acronyms are stylistic and occur in different forms. It’s often as simple as picking the first letters to form a name but in some cases it takes a different dive. What matters is making the names concise for proper use and application. In politics, the shorter the name the better for the popularity of the candidate.

The alliterative sound of PAM, which the electorates now reverberate as, “PAM, PAM, PAM,” reminds us of that magical rendition that gives positive surprises. PAM symbolises change and change is sacrosanct to better our society today. However, the name ‘Prince Alex Mbata’ rings a bell because of his history of positive strides among the people. From the length and breadth of his immediate Owerri to the global sphere, he stands different as a one man non-governmental personality who believes that one needs not hold any political position to affect the people positively. His contributions to the development of the zone and even the state and beyond are monumental.

PAM has created the atmosphere for human development in the state. John Quincy Adams opined thus, “If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more, and become more, you are a leader.” PAM is a leader with inexhaustible plans to better the lives of his people. During the primaries, there were pressures to change the tide but the people knew that there’s no better leader to change the odds in the zone. PAM’s leadership style coupled with his incomparable human relations gave him the leeway. The party needs victory which must come through a known technocrat who has no option but to continue his usual development agenda of making the people realise and enjoy the dividends of democracy.

I will never cast aspersions on anyone seeking any political office but the question every electorate must strive to answer is: What pedigree do most of these candidates have that inspire them to aspire to become part of the legislative system in the country? By now, we should know that the idea of business-as-usual must be extinguished from our political thoughts. Majority of those who have held power tenaciously and have refused to let go must be replaced with people of proven power. By the time we realise that we need leaders with proven records of transparency in their business and relationship that’s when things will begin to get better in this country.

Great leaders are self motivated, which makes them people of great ideas. A leader who is not creatively imbued will never contribute well if elected into any political office. According to Napoleon Hill, “The great leaders of business, industry, and finance…. all became great because they developed the power of self-motivation.” You can’t give what you don’t have. It’s possible to make promises and get the votes but an empty person will give the people empty representation.

One of the essential leadership traits of good leaders is their ability to motivate others. Good leaders always motivate their employees and boost their morale when needed. They sail their boat smoothly, even in hazardous situations. They keep themselves self-motivated and set an example to follow. This is why Brian Tracy explained that “The best leaders have a high consideration factor. They care about their people.” Yes, PAM cares in all ways to better the lives of his people.

Let’s keep chiming the acronym, PAM, PAM, PAM because it reminds us of the hope we have and the development we desire. It makes our minds prepared for a better and greater Owerri zone. It’s time to go beyond window-dressing to real performance. It’s time to go beyond histrionics to serious legislative duties and matters. We have a great leader in PAM because he has no option but to deliver us out of the turbulent tides we have been forced into as a result of bad representations over the years.

PAM is our best bet as we perm him to our advantage in the Red Chambers. Jesse Jackson explained explicitly that “Leaders must be tough enough to fight, tender enough to cry, human enough to make mistakes, humble enough to admit them, strong enough to absorb the pain, and resilient enough to bounce back and keep on moving.” All these and more we must expect from the astute PAM, Prince Alex Mbata, to the glory of God!
