The busy Owerri- Onitsha- Owerri Express road has been deserted following an attack on a police check point at Ihiala.
Reports said some people were feared dead and others injured during the attack.
The incident was said to have taken place at about 10.30am, on Tuesday, between the Ihiala-Uli axis on Ihiala Local Government area
Commercial bus drivers have stopped operations on the major road for fear of being attacked.
