Fiery critic, Prof Protus Uzoma, has fingered Western nations as formidable opposition to the presidential bid of Labour Party, LP Presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi in the 2023 presidential election.
Speaking to newsmen in Owerri, Prof Uzoma, said Mr. Obi has shown and proved to be the best presidential candidate among the frontline candidates in the race to Aso Rock in 2023.
He however noted that the powerful Western nations may oppose Obi, because his policies and programmes for the nation are at variance with the re- colonialization posture of the West.
“The West has institutionalized modern slavery in Africa. They want to keep us in perpetual bondage. They are opposed to leaders who will break the jinx of re-colonization.
“Peter Obi would break the western economic and political monopoly in Nigeria. He is the Moses of our time, who will liberate Nigeria from economic strangulation designed by the West.
Protus said Peter Obi’s desire to transform Nigerian from a consuming nation to a productive one, is totally against the economic policy of the West, who have consistently opposed such policy and always wanted to impose leaders in Africa who will do their bidding.
“The West may not allow Obi to be President of Nigeria because they will always want a depressive government. They have always programmed this country to be dependent on them. They compel African leaders to take their loans and when some of them refuse, they are dealth with. Their long term plan is to enslave us
“But the people can say no. There comes a time in the life of a nation when the people rise to reject such monopoly. Nigerians through their votes can say no to such global political manipulation.
“Obi is the one with the magic wand. He is receiving wider reception and acceptance among Nigerians and he will recover Nigeria from institutionalized corruption” he stated.
Prof Protus further explained the All Progressives Congress, APC led Federal Government has mortgaged the future of the youths in the country through massive borrowing.
“If what INEC is telling us that the 2023 election will be free and fair, is correct, then with our votes, we can break the monopoly and influence of the West in choosing leaders for us in Africa, particularly in Nigeria
He explained that Obi’s aspiration is widely accepted across the nation, especially in Igboland.
“Nigerians can see clearly that among the three leading presidential candidates,Peter Obi is the best.
“Atiku and Tinubu do have cases with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. Obi does not any issue with them. And former President Obasanjo has said it all about Atiku, and for Tinubu, he should know that the presidency is not hereditary.
“No Igbo leader has spoken against Peter Obi except Emeka Ihedioha, former governor of Imo State. Ihedioha came out openly to criticize Obi and that was widely condemned.
“Governor Hope Uzodimma earned my respect when he embraced Obi when he visited Imo State. Governors Umahi and Ikpeazu never did that. I m supporting Obi because of his ideas for the good of the nation” the fiery critic who is Secretary Orlu Council of Elders stated.
