2023 Elections: INEC Begins Distribution Of Sensitive Materials In Imo

Ahead of the February 25 Presidential and National Assembly elections, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has commenced distribution of election sensitive materials to the 27 local governments in Imo State.

The distribution of the materials took place at the premises of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, located along Owerri- Port Harcourt road.

The State Resident Electoral Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Professor Sylvia Agu, received the materials under the close observation of representatives of the political parties.

After the distribution of the materials, Agu informed newsmen that all is in place for the successful conduct of the polls in the state.

The REC however expressed concern over the unrest in Orlu, Orsu and Okigwe local government areas, which compelled members of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, designated to work as ad hoc staff, to leave the areas.
