Members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Oru East local government of Imo State, escaped death by the whiskers when gunmen in a commando style, stormed the venue of the party’s rally.
Reports say the gunmen stormed the rally with Hilux vans, carrying sophisticated weapons and began to shooting sporadically which forced party supporters to scamper to safety.
An eye witness said they destroyed all the canopies at the rally venue, seized the phones of owners who abandoned them and destroyed the generator used to power the event.
There has been increasing level of insecurity in Imo state lately.
