Imo Strike: Uzodimma Sacks Labour Commissioner

Ford Ozumba, the Imo State Commissioner for Labour and Productivity has been sacked by Governor Hope Uzodimma.

Declan Emelumba, Commissioner of Information and Strategy, in a statement did not give reasons for Mr. Ozumba’s sack.

“Accordingly, His Excellency further directs that Chief Ozumba hands over to the Permanent Secretary of his Ministry with immediate effect”

Ozumba’s sack came barely 72 hours organized Labour in ten State embarked on strike.

The Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, President, Jeo Ajaero, had directed workers to stay at home, closed the Imo Airport and cut off electricity supply to the State
