There is tension in Enugu, as supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and the Labour party, have stormed the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC over the collation of the governorship election results.
Our Enugu correspondent report that LP supporters who were the first to arrive the Commission’s headquarters, say that its governorship candidate, Barr. Chijioke Edeoga, who won the election. They also demanded that the result of the Nkanu East Local Government Area must be rejected over alleged non usage of BVAS.
Also, they argued that over 30,000 votes of the PDP’s Peter Mbah never emanated from the votes cast at the polling units.
According to them, only about 15,000 votes were cast in the election.
Few minutes after the LP supporters came to the Commission’s office, PDP supporters arrived, insisting that its governorship candidate, Mbah be declared the winner.
Both groups were however stopped from entering the offices of the commission Â
