Okezie Ikpeazu, Governor of Abia State, has sacked all his political appointees.
The sack came barely a week, Alex Otti of the Labour party defeated his preferred choice and governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Okechukwu Ahiwe.
Chris Ezem, Secretary to the Abia State Government, in a statement seen by this newspaper, said all those affected are all Special Assistants, Senior Special Assistants, Special Advisers and Technical Officers.
The governor further directed the State Accountant General to ensure immediate payment of March, 2023 stipends to all the outgoing appointees.
The governor thanked them for their contributions and services to the state and wished them well in their future endeavours.
