INEC Reveals Where Supplementary Polls Would Take Place In Imo

Three State Constituencies in Imo State, will witness supplementary elections, on Saturday, to be conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

Resident Electoral Commissioner of INEC, Prof Sylvia Agu made this known at a stakeholders meeting organized by the electoral umpire.

According to her, the Constituencies are Ideato South State Constituency, Isu State Constituency, Ahiazu Mbaise State Constituency and Mbaitoli/Ikeduru Federal Constituency.

She gave a breakdown where the the supplementary polls would take place.

Agu stated that Isu would have elections in two registration areas made up of four polling units, Ahiazu Mbaise, three registration areas with nine polling units, Ideato South, one registration area with seven polling units, all for State Assembly, while Mbaitoli/Ikeduru, would have seven registration areas with 52 polling units and five registration areas with six polling units for federal Constituency.

She explained that the supplementary elections became imperative for various reasons, ranging from late arrival of materials, non delivery of electoral materials by the SPOs, materials not reaching to polling units, disruption of voting/collation process, abduction of personnel, carting away of electoral materials to violence, thus resulting in the process not being concluded on the day it should have.
