Imo Guber: LP Candidate, Achonu Consults Ex Reps Member, Tony Nwulu

A former member of the House of Representatives and erstwhile governorship candidate in Imo State, Hon Tony Nwulu, has been consulted by the Labour party governorship candidate in the State, Senator Athan Achonu.

Nwulu, the exponent of the Not Too Young To Run Law, hosted Achonu in his Abuja home, at the weekend, where the guber hopeful sought his support for the November 11 Imo governorship election.

Sources at the meeting said Nwulu, received the guber hopeful, but noted that his stand or choice of governorship candidate will be made known after due consultations with other stakeholders in the state, especially the youths.

Recall that Nwulu had received local and international accolades for spearheading the Not Too Young To Run bill, on the floor of the House of Representatives, which was assented into law by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Sources close to him said he will throw his weight of support to any of the candidates in Imo State, who have a workable blueprint to ensure gainful employment, better living for youths of the State and who will be committed to the economic development and growth of the State.

At the moment, there are three frontline governorship candidates in Imo State, Governor Hope Uzodimma of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Senator Athan Achonu of the Labour party and Senator Samuel Anyanwu of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Details of the Nwulu/Achonu meeting were sketchy.

The Labour party guber hopeful was however accompanied on the visit by former Imo State Commissioner of Justice and Attorney General, Ken Njemanze (SAN), member elect for Owerri Federal Constituency, Hon Tochukwu Okere, former member, Imo State House of Assembly, Hon Clinton Amadi, among others.
