Nneise Ugiri – Ike Autonomous Community in Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State, has Commended one of their illustrious sons Chief Dr. Uzoma Obiyo, CEO, Multinet Groups for his developmental strides as Nigeria Police Force Abuja, commissiones Police Children Primary school in the Community .
The event which took place on Thursday 25, May,2023 witnessed the presence of sons and daughters of the community who graced the occasion.
In her address, the school head teacher Mrs. Chinyere Nwogu noted that they are all gathered to witness the official commissioning and handing over of police children school Owerri 11 Nneise Ugiri – Ike Ikeduru LGA.
She said, ” I visited the palace of HRH Eze Levi Iheanyichukwu Ezeala whom I pleaded with to assist so that the school will have a building at the permanent site donated by the villages.
One of his illustrious sons a philanthropist Chief Dr. Uzoma Obiyo attracted the NDDC and built a standard block of classrooms with two offices, six toilets, a store and other facilities put in place to improve the quality of education within Nigeria Police Force, and to promote Police Education in this Community, Imo State and Nigeria at large”.
Nwogu revealed that now their story has changed and they are sure of greater accomplishment in every facet of teaching and learning, as she enjoy everyone to recommend the school to anyone, anywhere and all times.
She appreciated Mr. Israel Ugwuakazi who accommodated the school in his building since the establishment of the school, prayed that God will bountifully reward him and others who contributed to the success of the event.
In his speech, Dr. Uzoma Obiyo, described the event as a special day in Nneise community, and the school came when his people didn’t know what to do about it.
He said, “the school came at a point in time our community was facing challenges of being made an autonomous Community
And that would inform what will help this community achieve that need of being an autonomous community. Then he said further that the community was lucky to have a brother like Ogbonnaya Orji who when in active service deployed all his contacts to be able to attract this school to the community that we are witnessing the commissioning of the permanent site
However, the police school has primary and secondary unfortunately at that time their people blindly did not know the importance and need to have this primary school not to talk about the secondary.
And my uncle Israel who volunteered a place of worship he built to the school as a temporary site, made sure that the building was provided for the benefit of the children to School.
A time came and they were battling with space and when all these things where going on I was not even in the picture, I didn’t know what was going on
So, my brother struggled all through to see how to accommodate the primary school” at that place of worship
He commended the efforts of Mrs Mercy Uchegbu, the pioneer head teacher who tried her best in all areas of school administrators, and the new head teacher whom he described as war Lord for her role.
Obiyo, thanked the Police Federal Education Officer Abuja DCP Umar Hadejia who also represented the IG for doing the needful and appeal to him to help the community in actualising the aim of building the structure made for the Police secondary school, even as he charged the school leadership to cultivate the habit of maintenance culture.
The President General of Nneise Ugiri Ike, Chief Andrew Ewurum, who represented HRH Eze Levi Iheanyichukwu Ezeala, thanked God for the community to witnessed such developmental strides facilitated by their great son Dr. Uzoma Obiyo who attracted and Facilitated the Project through the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs and others for their contributions, assured him that the community will make good use of the facilities.
Meanwhile, shortly after the commissioning of the facilities, the representative of the Inspector General of Police DCP Umar Hadejia, commended Uzoma Obiyo for attracting NDDC who came in and constructed four classrooms block, offices and other Facilities
He maintained that he is very happy and assured them on behalf of IGP, that he will make good use of the facilities for the intended purpose. He noted that apart from the handing over of the police primary school, their request for the secondary school will be looked and met.
Also speaking, the Imo State Commissioner for Education Prof. Johncliff Nwadike, said he is happy to see development in Nneise Ugiri Ike, describing it as a special school that will make the state proud. He promised to do everything possible to support the school through His Excellency Senator Hope Uzodimma , Imo Governor’s Education Programs.
The event also witnessed police children Primary School Welcome song presentation, Cultural Dance , Beautiful Parade performed by Special Parade Squad from the Police Primary School Nneise, beautiful presentation from the Pupils by singing the National anthem in French Language Nneise women married into the Community also performed a cultural dance presentation and the official hand over of learning materials performed by Mrs. Uchechi Obiyo , and group photographs.
