The Chief Political Adviser to Governor Hope Uzodimma and Head, Political Bureau, Barr Enyinnaya Onuegbu, has issued a public disclaimer on campaign posters and lamp posts billboards purported for Governor Hope Uzodimma, for the November 2023 governorship election in Imo State.
He said unknown persons suspected to be agents of governorship candidates in the State are behind the act.
The Public Disclaimer he personally signed reads:
“It has come to the attention of His Excellency, Dist Sen. Hope Uzodimma, Governor of Imo State and Candidate of the All Progressives Congress for the Governorship Election Scheduled for November 11, 2023 that certain unknown persons suspected to be agents of Governorship Candidates of other Political Parties and their supporters have been going round Imo State particularly on popular roads and streets posting and mounting Campaign Posters with the Governor’s Image on the street light lamp posts purporting to be doing same on behalf of and in promotion of the Governor as APC Candidate
“This NOTICE serves as a Public DISCLAIMER of those forged, unauthorized and preemptory “Campaign Posters” as they are neither authorized nor acceptable to His Excellency, Sen Hope Uzodimma as Governorship Candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC)
“This infamous scheme is aimed at creating an unhealthy window for the opposition to file speculative law suits against the APC Governorship Candidate and INEC for premature campaigning and thus distract in a foul manner the momentum of the winning Candidate. This plan is against the backdrop that the Opposition Parties ordinarily admit their factual incapacity to challenge the incumbent on fair grounds in view of his monumental achievements during the subsisting first tenure as Governor of Imo State
“Finally, the security agencies have been alerted to arrest and prosecute any person seen pasting the offensive posters henceforth prior to the Official Flag off of Campaigns in accordance with the Election time table published by INEC.
