Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, has offered to grant amnesty to bandits who will give up their arms and turn a new leaf.
Speaking at a meeting with traditional and community leaders in the State held at Eze Imo Palace, Governor Uzodimma advocated for peace and stability in the State with the offer to rehabilitate anyone, willing to turn in their weapons through their traditional rulers.
He urged traditional rulers to put more efforts to secure their communities and identify strangers causing trouble in their domain.
He reiterated his administration’s commitment to protect the people of the State, both those in the urban and rural areas.
“Security is the business of every law-abiding citizen and all hands must be on deck for Imo to thrive” he told the monarchs.
He also intimated them of the State government’s policies and commitment to cushion the effects of the fuel subsidy removal, which include, N40,000 Naira minimum wage, free medicare and one meal per day for Imo workers and many more.
He encouraged every citizen of the State to get their social security numbers which will not only enable them to be identified, but also benefit from both the State and Federal government palliatives.
